Holy Crap!

Holy Crap! This book just bitch slapped me. I could not put it down and was up all night. A few things you need to know: there are some triggers (drug use, abuse) but its very well written and handled. CLIFFHANGER (just warning you!).
You must read this book. I can't stop thinking about it. I plan to write a full review on my blog once I process everything that just happened to me at the hands of a book. Seriously, the feels, man.

this book just ripped out my heart and stomped on it

Oh, this book- what do I say about this book that just ripped my heart out? I will start by saying it was very well written and overflowed with emotion. The story is told in dual POV so we get inside both Hadley and Reed's heads. And man oh man Hadley's head is a scary place at times over the course of the book but Reed's POV helped me to understand him and ultimately find a way to root for him as the story unfolded.

Fighting to Start covers several years in their lives and really focuses on how one decision can effectively cause a ripple effect as the resulting waves transform everything in ways you never would have predicted. And that story is far from pretty - miscommunications, secrets and heartache abound and are compounded by poor decisions made as s result.

That leads me to my struggle with the book overall. I am a person who reads for enjoyment and to find a happy place to lose myself for awhile. There is enough that happens in real life that can bring me down that I won't necessarily read a book that inflicts this type of emotional turmoil on me without preparing myself for it and really being in the right frame of mind to approach it properly. Unfortunately I went into the story somewhat blind, and after forcing myself to read through to the end, I found an unresolved ending that left me more than a little bit cranky and teary eyed.

So with that being said, the author did write an engaging and emotional story that was a page turner for sure. People who thrive on the emotional roller coaster and constant drama/ angst should definitely 1-click this story. I just personally was not in the proper mindset for this type of story when I read it and felt like I had been put through an unwelcome wringer right alongside them by the time I got to the last page. Part 2 of their story is still a few months away and it seems as though there are more secrets to be revealed particularly on Hadley's part in Fighting to Stay although I have a good idea what one of them will be already based on a few hints dropped in Fighting to Start. And yes I will probably read the next installment with the added benefit of being able to prep myself for it better the next time around.

If I could I would give it more!!!! This story sucked me in from the beginning. It's a awesome book about love and what we go through to get what we deserve! !! This book made me mad made me cry and made me laugh. What more can you ask for? It is one of my top reads!!! Thank god I was given a arc copy of this!!! Everyone needs to get this book and fall in love like I did!!!

Good beginning but became a bit contrived

I found this book gripping and interesting in the beginning but the ending was a bit trite and predictable. I also found it hard to believe that a woman would ever develop a romantic interest in a boy she had watched grow up from a young child.

This book was very interesting. If your interested in strange triangle area's this book will be of interest. I have read it twice now and may end up reading a third time. A lot of information and the more you read it the more you get more out of it.

West Wales was the setting for a series of UFO and alien sightings in the late 1970s. The author of The Welsh Triangle spent some time there interviewing eyewitnesses. This book presents his findings, plus other topics, such as the FBI's apparently brief interest in UFOs in 1947, plus cases of UFO-related disappearances of people. It's a fast-paced, consistently entertaining book. On the downside, no sources of information are listed. Also, he appears a bit gullible as he says towards the end that the fairly blatant hoax alien encounter of Arthur Bryant, as related in The Scoriton Mystery, was genuine. All the books on the mysterious events in late 70s Wales are definitely worth a look. The others are Dyfed Enigma: Unidentified Flying Objects in West Wales and The Uninvited (A Star book).

Steffen Heegaard, MD, PhD, is a Professor and Consultant in Ophthalmology at the Eye Pathology Institute, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and is a former Chairman of the Institute. Dr. Heegaard is an officially appointed examiner in ophthalmology at all Danish universities. He has extensive teaching experience that has included responsibility for training postgraduate doctors in ophthalmic pathology. Dr. Heegaard is an elected member of the European Ophthalmic Pathology Society and a reviewer for various scientific journals. He has published more than 120 articles in international publications.

Pick and Billy the Kid.
Billy the Kid and Pick.
How am I supposed to choose who I love more? The answer is simple, I don’t! I loved The Secrets Out!!! M�nage is one of my absolute favorite genres of all time, so to have one of my fav author’s write and write so fantastically awesome that I actually felt every single emotion was amazing!
Lila takes the Hawks to whole new level in this book, with Josie fighting to fit in, and show her family that she was ok to be off at Uni, was a struggle you felt with every word you read. She was nearly as broken as when she first came into their lives, until her two leather wearing, bike riding knights showed up to save the day!
The fact Billy and Pike were so attracted to each other but each afraid and unwillingly to act without Josie in the picture was terribly heart breaking. The fighting, the longing, the nearly lost love, was so emotional it was almost a train wreck waiting to happen.
I loved it when they all finally came together and realized that they could each get what they want. Josie made Pick and Billy stronger yet softer. They made Josie stronger in spirit than she ever had been.
This book was a true fairy-tale in biker fantasy come to life! I adored it!! I only have one wish….. MORE!!!!!

The Secret's Out

Ok we are going to duck and hide for a minute, this was our first introduction to the Hawks MC and its left us wanting to know more! We are going to have to play a bit of catch up and read the previous books asap.

Lila Rose sure knows how to pack a punch in her books. The Secret's Out will pull at your heart strings, make you laugh and have you on edge at times. We felt like we were being pulled every which way, in a good way. This book is about three beautiful people who have each endured pain, abuse and heartache. Together they find a way to mend each other, separately and together they are the light to each other's dark.

Josie Alexander has been away from her family for the past two years at Melbourne University. She has missed her family but wants to prove to herself that she can succeed on her own. Josie shares a place with her friend Simone, house sitting for Parker who is rarely around.
Uni is going great until she attracts unwanted attention from Cameron a guy who won't take no for an answer or leave her alone. Every day he finds a new way to torment her, days turn into weeks and weeks into months, Josie is no longer the girls she once was and has started to shut down. That is until Simone receives a call that changes everything...

Caden aka Pick is a member of the Hawks MC, life hasn't been easy for him, he's learnt some lessons the hard way. Now he’s found a family with joining an MC, he would do anything to protect them. Pick had a horrific and tormented childhood, he was raised by a drug addict mother who did indescribable things to him. The only good thing in Pick's life are his club and the woman he and Billy have had their eyes on for a long time, Josie.

Billy aka Eli is a ladies man, getting his fill from the women who throw themselves at him. Deep down he only wants one woman, Josie.

Pick and Billy have been ordered to head to Melbourne and deal with Josie's problem. Tension between Pick and Billy is still thick, hardly muttering words to each other since Josie left and well that one night... Both want the best for Josie and as much as they care for her they would never want her to choose between them.

Pick and Billy arriving in Melbourne and seeing Josie again changes everything for all of them. They will do whatever it takes to protect Josie from her tormentor. What Pick didn't count on was having to fight his own demons at the same time...

Just when you think life is running smooth for Josie, Pick and Billy think again because Lila sure knows how you sneak up and pack a punch!

5 huge heart melting stars for the next installment in the Hawks MC - Caroline Springs Charter that features Josie Alexander / Caden "Pick" Adams / Eli "Billy the Kid" Walker. This book is truly a beautiful coming together of three individuals that have all had their fair share of abuse/pain/heartache/neglect it contains both M/F ~ M/M ~ M/M/F scenes that are some of the most scorching hot scenes this author has ever written so consider yourself warned of the menage/triad relationship portion and enjoy the journey she takes you on.

Josie Alexander has been away in Melbourne at university for the last two years missing her family desperately. Josie decided she will conquer her demons and succeed on her own so she refuses to tuck her tail between her legs and run back home to the only family she has ever had in Ballarat. She has a great friend and roommate in Simone and the elusive home owner Parker who is rarely there. Everything was going well until she accepted a date with a guy named Cameron who realized rather quickly that Josie was different from other girls and instead of respecting her boundaries he thought he could push them by tormenting her. Days of torment turned into weeks then months and Josie is starting to shut down until Simone makes a call that changes everything.

Billy is a true ladies man and has fun flirting and seducing anything in a skirt he also considers himself heterosexual and in no way attracted to men, but one drunken night a few years ago changed everything between him and Pick. Billy and Pick are both in love with the same woman but instead of her choosing between them she decided to move away to attend university. Billy refuses to even be friends with Pick after the fall out two years ago finding it easier to avoid the temptation of him all together then be faced with thoughts of their night together. Now they are sent on a mission by Talon...together...to help Josie. Billy has no idea how this will play out but it has been two long years in the making.

Pick messed up once before with the Hawks when he sold Zara out, therefore he knows there is no way in this life or the next he would do anything to jeopardize the family he has found in the MC. After the horrific childhood his mother put him through where he was both physically and sexually assaulted Pick has accepted his bisexual side but it still makes him feel so dirty to want the things he does especially when he has those thoughts about Billy. Now standing in front of Talon hearing him say he wants him and Billy to go to Melbourne and stay with Josie to handle her problems is like a dream come true. Billy and Pick can finally claim their girl as long as Josie is agreeable and live the life he has only dreamed about.

Wow this edition to the Hawks MC was by far my favorite. I think the crew of the MC and town of Caroline Springs is going to be epic! I both laughed and sobbed while reading this book and certain parts had me overheating it was so damn steamy. We got to meet new characters that certainly have a story to tell and caught up on old ones too. Then of course the way the author sets up the storyline for the next book in the series is just enough to leave you wanting it right now... Hello Saxon ;)
